Today, Wildrose Leader Brian Jean kicked off the Calgary-Greenway byelection, saying Devinder Toor is the clear choice to defeat the NDP.
Jean said Wildrose is the largest official Opposition in a generation and the only party fighting for jobs, the economy, pipelines and the energy sector. He said by electing Toor, Calgary-Greenway families will have a strong voice in the legislature.
“Voters in Calgary-Greenway are fed up with the direction of this NDP government,” Jean said. “Devinder is the only candidate in this election capable of beating the NDP, and he is the only candidate who voters can trust to fight for jobs and the economy. I encourage all Calgary-Greenway residents interested in stopping the NDP’s risky economic policies to join Devinder and his team.”
Toor was elected in an open, democratic nomination contest on Feb. 26. He said his background as a small business owner is exactly what the residents of Calgary-Greenway need right now.
“As a Calgarian and as a business owner, I am ready to join the official Opposition and give the families of Calgary-Greenway a real voice in the legislature,” Toor said. “We cannot afford to elect even one more NDP MLA in this province. Wildrose has proven itself to be the only party capable of standing up to the NDP’s reckless policies. I’m calling on all common sense conservatives to join us as we fight for jobs, families and the economy.”
