Wildrose calls for Lynn Redford to testify at inquiry

EDMONTON, AB (November 20, 2012): The Wildrose Official Opposition is today requesting that Justice John Vertes – the Commissioner of Alberta’s Preferential Access Inquiry – call Lynn Redford to testify at the inquiry.

In a letter sent this morning to Justice Vertes, Wildrose Official Opposition Leader Danielle Smith said the partisan political nature of Redford’s job expenses as well as a 2009 admission from an MLA in the Legislature that Redford could direct his calls within “two hours” make her a person of interest the inquiry should seek out.  Redford was the Calgary Health Region’s Government Relations Advisor when she expensed several donations to the PC party between 2005 and 2008. In the most recent version of the Alberta Health Services organizational chart, Redford is listed the Provincial Officer for Executive Special Projects in the Ethics and Compliance office.  The inquiry’s findings are due by April 30, 2013.
