Wendy feels very strongly that Albertans need a change and we must be ready to form Government in 2016.
Wendy believes strong constituency associations are the key to a Wildrose win in 2016. She decided to run for VP Membership in order to use the knowledge she has gained as a longtime political organizer and two term Provincial Director to mentor and strengthen Wildrose constituency associations across the Province.
Wendy joined the Party to support Danielle Smith for Leader. When her MLA, Heather Forsyth, crossed the floor, she was quick to rally the troops to join the Constituency Association. She served as VP Membership and President of the Calgary-Fish Creek CA and was Heather Forsyth’s campaign manager. Through lots of hard work from the campaign team, Heather was able to retain her seat, even though the PCs had targeted it as a "take back" riding. Wendy has volunteered for many Party endeavors and received the first Strong and Free Award for Outstanding Volunteer at the 2011 AGM. She has worked diligently as Provincial Director for South Calgary for two terms, helping her 13 CAs become stronger. Wendy is also actively involved with the Conservative Party of Canada, volunteering on many campaigns, serving on the Calgary Southeast Board for over a decade and as Volunteer Coordinator for the 2013 National Convention. Professionally, Wendy has had a long career in the oil and gas industry. Wendy is married to Peter and they have two adult sons and one grandson.
"Our job over the next few years is to prepare to form Government in 2016. That’s why it’s so important to have hard working, experienced people on the Executive Committee. I am committed to this Party, to our leader, and together, I am confident that we can lay the groundwork for a Wildrose Government in 2016."
