Janis Nett was elected to the position of VP Membership in October 2016.
Janis Nett is originally from Saskatchewan and moved to Red Deer in 2000 when she accepted a position with Red Deer Catholic Regional School Division and continues to be employed by this Board. It was under Premier Klein’s leadership of fiscal responsibility, opportunity and low taxes that attracted Janis to call Red Deer home.
The deterioration of the public education system is what got Janis involved with the Wildrose party in 2013. The Wildrose Party has clear policies that support parental rights and school choice, they maintain free votes and will implement recall legislation. This made joining the Wildrose an easy and logical decision. Janis has been very active on the Red Deer South Wildrose CA board serving as VP Policy and as President. She currently serves as Chair with the Central Regional Group.
Janis strongly believes that the success of this party lies in a strong and active membership. It is in the grassroots principles and policies where sensible and effective solutions are found. Building capacity among the Constituency Associations is paramount to success and this is what prompted Janis to run for VP Membership. Janis recognizes her role as a voice for the membership and pledges to work towards uniting Albertans on a foundation of compassion, conservatism, self reliance and grassroots principles.
