EDMONTON, AB (March 5, 2012): Between now and the election, Wildrose MLAs will spend the remaining spring session at the Legislature highlighting what has become a culture of corruption within the PC government. MLAs will question the government on their most recent ethical transgressions as well as roll out new examples that illustrate just how far and deep the culture runs within the government.
“As we’ve witnessed recently as well as over the past few years, a pronounced culture of corruption, cronyism, intimidation, bullying, self-dealing and patronage has taken hold inside the PC government,” Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith said. “Our job over the next few weeks will be to show Albertans the full extent of this culture and leave it to them to decide whether or not the PCs deserve another shot governing our province.” Wildrose House Leader Rob Anderson said MLAs will use their house time to expose the culture of corruption so Albertans will have a complete picture before they cast their ballot this spring. “This culture permeates just about every issue Alberta faces today, from energy to health care to education,” Anderson said. “The PCs have tainted our province with their bullying tactics and abuses of power. I want Albertans to ask themselves if what’s happening in our province is acceptable to them before they vote in this election.” The Wildrose Caucus stands for free enterprise, less government, increased personal freedom and democracy.
