EDMONTON, AB (November 11, 2013): Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith issued the following statement marking Remembrance Day: "Remembrance Day is the one day every year that we set aside to commemorate the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and celebrate the victories they paid the ultimate price to secure.
"The peace we enjoy in Canada every day is their legacy to us and we must never take it for granted. Indeed, today is the day we are reminded that the price of a free society is a heavy one to pay and one that thousands of Canadian families bear every single day. "Over the course of our national history, more than 4 million Canadians have answered the call to fight against tyranny and oppression and to secure peace and liberty across the globe. Many of them have paid the ultimate price. We honour them on this day. "We also give thanks for those who have safely returned from battle, along with their loved ones, who go without husbands and fathers, wives and mothers for months on end so our world can be a safer place. "Thank you to all who have served our country. We will never forget your sacrifice." VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmxzFNZcPPU&feature=c4-overview&list=UUV-Hl4x4nZUgW9VowaEzyGg
