EDMONTON, AB (September 4, 2013): Today, Wildrose Official Opposition Leader Danielle Smith released the following statement to mark the celebration of Rosh Hashanah:
“Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Jewish New Year, marks the beginning of an important 10-day period in the Jewish religion known as the High Holy Days. “Rosh Hashanah is a time of introspection and where teshuva is performed, an opportunity for the worshipper and the community to repent and to seek to better oneself for the new year. “While Jewish families take time to celebrate, it gives us all the opportunity as Albertans to be thankful for the contribution of the Jewish people to our heritage and to reflect on our own past and to take stock of the present. “On behalf of my colleagues in the Wildrose Official Opposition, I extend my best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year to Jewish people here in Alberta and around the world.” Shana Tovah u’metukah.
