Today, Wildrose Shadow Democracy and Accountability Minister Jason Nixon released the following statement on the dismissal of the Board of Directors of the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC):
“We are glad to see the executives of the AFSC investigated. For years, rumours have circulated about questionable practices at the AFSC.
“Wildrose first questioned the practices of the AFSC in 2013. At that time, the AFSC demanded FOIP fees as high as $4,450 to avoid accountability.
“The culture of entitlement that existed under the previous government permeated many of the Agencies, Boards and Commissions created under its watch.
“It is our sincere hope that going forward, absolute transparency and the utmost respect for taxpayer dollars will be the focus of the AFSC and other Agencies, Boards and Commissions."
