CHESTERMERE, AB (April 29, 2013): Today, Wildrose Education Critic Bruce McAllister released the following statement on the announcement by the provincial government of the construction and modernization of new schools. “We’re thrilled with new schools being announced for our growing communities across the province, but it is disappointing that it has taken over a year to make any progress on this election commitment.
“We believe that investing in schools should be a top priority, but communities should not have to wait for special ribbon cutting announcements to know when or if their school will be built. “Infrastructure, especially for new schools, should be based on an objective needs-based assessment, not politics. In the coming days, we will continue to pressure the government to release their priority list so all Alberta communities can know when their school will be built and can plan ahead.”
