Jean to promote Alberta's economy, energy sector on Ontario trip

Wildrose Leader Brian Jean will be travelling to Ontario next week to deliver a series of speeches that will highlight the importance of Alberta’s economy to Canada's wellbeing, advocate for pipelines and propose solutions to get Albertans working again, the Wildrose Official Opposition said today.

“Albertans are frustrated by the misinformation about our economy and the opposition to projects that are critical to not only our province, but to all of Canada,” Jean said. “It’s important for Alberta’s leaders to make the case for our province, to communicate the facts about Alberta’s record developing our natural resources and to drive the national agenda when it comes to responsible energy development.”

Stops on the tour include speaking at the C.D. Howe Institute and the Albany Club in Toronto. Jean will wrap up his Ontario visit in Ottawa, where he will be speaking on a panel of provincial leaders at the Manning Networking Conference.

“It’s important for Alberta to have a voice. We need to be standing up and defending the interests of our energy sector, and explaining why a strong Alberta means a strong Canada,” Jean said.
