Hale welcomes Alberta Beef Celebration in Brooks
BROOKS, AB (August 28, 2013): Strathmore-Brooks MLA Jason Hale made the following statement ahead of the Alberta Beef Celebration in Brooks on September 7: “After overcoming the difficult closure of the XL Foods plant last year, I can think of no better opportunity to mark the accomplishments of the Alberta beef industry and local cattle producers than the Alberta Beef Celebration in Brooks on September 7.
I welcome Albertans to join the celebration. “The challenging events of last year’s temporary plant closure brought out the best in the community as people came together to provide assistance where needed and worked hard to get the plant back on line with a renewed commitment to food safety. Since the plant reopened, Brooks has fully restored its reputation as the producer of the world’s greatest beef products, thanks in large part to the hard work of JBS and its employees. “I hope local residents will take this opportunity to celebrate the important contributions of the beef industry to Alberta’s economy and culture, and come enjoy the barbecue and events. I would like to express my gratitude to all the sponsors and supporters of the Alberta Beef Celebration for making this great event possible.” The City of Brooks, County of Newell, Eastern Irrigation District, JBS Food Canada Inc., MLA Jason Hale and industry stakeholders will host the Alberta Beef Celebration from 4-6 p.m. following the Brooks Annual Show and Shine at the Lakeside Leisure Centre in the Cenovus Flexhall parking lot on September 7.
