Forsyth statement on lung cancer treatment failure

CALGARY, AB (April 2, 2014): Wildrose Health Critic Heather Forsyth released the following statement in response to a Canadian Institute of Health Information report that shows Alberta has the worst wait times in the country for lung cancer treatment: “The data published in the CIHI report is proof of another PC  government failure in health care. We’re talking about one of the most deadly forms of cancer, and the fact that patients in Alberta wait 70% longer for treatment than the Canadian average and almost twice as long as patients in neighbouring BC, is completely unacceptable. “Even more disturbing is the admission from AHS that they don’t even know why the treatment delays are occurring. “Minister Horne needs to immediately investigate this issue and commit the resources required to get lung cancer patients the life saving treatment they need.”
