CALGARY, AB (August 20, 2014): Wildrose Health Critic Heather Forsyth released the following statement on Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) ‘Image and Reputation Strategy’ document released through a freedom of information request showing the ongoing politicization of Alberta’s health care system.
"It’s disappointing to hear yet another story coming out of Alberta’s health care system where we see money being devoted to political communications documents instead of patients on the front lines.
“The cost of the fifteen page report at $25,000, a little more than the price of two hip replacements, is quite frankly stunning. AHS needs to realize its problem isn’t reputation; it’s about organizational performance and access to timely services.
“Without question, the best way to improve the government's reputation is to ensure Albertans can receive health care when they need it, where they need it.”
