Forsyth encourage Health Minister to get results
CALGARY, AB (May 12, 2014): Wildrose Health Critic Heather Forsyth encouraged Health Minister Fred Horne to get results at a meeting with Vertex Pharmaceuticals today. Horne along with ministers from Ontario and Yukon plan to seek lower costs for the cystic fibrosis medication Kalydeco, which is tens of thousands of dollars more expensive in Canada than the U.S. Forsyth released the following statement:
“It is encouraging to see the three minister work together on this important cause. Cystic fibrosis is a serious disease and every available treatment must be made available to those who suffer with it.
“It is my hope that the ministers will make some headway in reducing the costs of the medication, which will make the costs of treatment for cystic fibrosis less burdensome on families. I hope to see Minister Horne bring home results.”
