Wildrose congratulates Christy Clark and BC Liberals
EDMONTON, AB (May 14, 2013): Wildrose Official Opposition Leader Danielle Smith released the following statement on the results of tonight’s British Columbia provincial election:
“I wish to extend my congratulations to Premier Christy Clark and the BC Liberals on their re-election this evening. Ms. Clark ran a focused campaign on economic growth and I’m happy to see British Columbians returned her government to office with a strong mandate to pursue that agenda.
“I am also encouraged for what the result could mean for key infrastructure projects like a pipeline to the west coast. This is a project that is of mutual benefit for both Alberta and BC. BC voters clearly want a government that is focused on growing the economy and creating jobs. Most importantly, they have rejected the anti-growth, anti-pipeline agenda of the BC NDP. I am hopeful that Premier Clark and the BC Liberals will champion these types of projects and see them through to completion.
