Danielle Smith on the Charles Clark Medical Centre
HIGH RIVER, AB (June 22, 2012): Today, Wildrose Official Opposition Leader Danielle Smith released the following statement on today’s opening of the Charles Clark Medical Centre in High River: “High River has become one of the fastest-growing communities in Alberta, but with growth comes challenges. High River, like many small communities in Alberta, is facing a shortage of family doctors and primary care providers.
This a common problem, but the Charles Clark Medical Centre is a unique solution. "The Charles Clark Medical Centre is one of the very best examples of what innovation, hard work and leadership can accomplish. It is a truly unique model for local health care delivery, in which grassroots partners work together to attract family physicians with low overhead costs and quality work space. “This facility wasn’t the idea of a politician. It didn’t come from a government department or out of a government study. It came from right here, in High River, from people who know our community best. They saw a problem and they came up with a solution. A local solution. “Because of the vision and leadership of Dr. Ron Gorsche, Dr. Keith Spackman, and various other local partners, families and seniors in High River will have access to good health care for years to come.”
