Danielle Smith delivers strong, positive vision for Albertans during debate
April 12, 2012 (Edmonton, AB): Tonight’s leaders’ debate clearly laid out the choice facing Albertans on April 23rd between the same old Redford PCs who are out of touch and only out for themselves, and Danielle Smith’s Wildrose who has new ideas and will put Albertans first. Throughout the debate, Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith laid out Wildrose’s positive plan for Alberta. This stood in stark contrast to the negative attacks and fear mongering which have become the hallmarks of Alison Redford and the PC campaign.
“This election we have a real opportunity for change and a chance to elect a new government. I’ve been travelling the province for the last three years building a strong team as well as crafting a platform that will position Alberta for success.” While Smith focused on the Wildrose pledge, a series of five pledge items which will put Albertans first, Redford showed how desperate the PC campaign has become by repeatedly attacking Smith with misinformation and outright fabrications. Reacting post-debate, Smith said “I think Albertans have seen tonight that the PC Party they have supported for so long is gone. What’s left is a PC Party plagued with corruption and scandal, addicted to spending and out of ideas. “Throughout this campaign, Wildrose has put forward a credible, affordable platform which puts Alberta families and seniors first. “On Election Day, I’m confident that Albertans will choose our positive vision which puts Albertans first, instead of the PC record of higher spending and broken promises.” Wildrose stands for free enterprise, less government, increased personal freedom, and democracy.
