Another Poorly Researched PC Policy?
Today, surrounded by first responders, Ms. Redford announced that the PC party would be changing legislation to ensure that first responders have WCB coverage for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (http://www.votepc.ca/admin/contentx/dpNews/launch.cfm?itemid=2480&r=10187) This seems like a worthy initiative, and one wonders why it had not been in place already. In fact the WCB minutes from an October 25 board meeting focus on this issue, and by all appearances, such coverage has been in place since February 1 (http://www.wcb.ab.ca/pdfs/public/bod_minutes/oct_summ11.pdf) Since Ms. Redford surely would not be cynically taking advantage of valued first responders to announce an initiative that the WCB has already put in place, we would like the PC campaign to clarify what exactly her announcement adds to existing coverage for these brave men and women who serve Albertans. Wildrose stands for free enterprise, less government, increased personal freedom, and democracy.
