August 1 – August 31

Sept 1 – Sept 30

Oct 1 – Oct 26

Dear friends,

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend our party’s Annual General Meeting on October 25th and 26th, 2013, at the Sheraton Hotel in Red Deer. AGMs are a special time for our party and vital to our party’s future growth and success.

As a grassroots party, AGMs offer an opportunity for members across the province to come together to discuss and debate policy, elect members of our Executive Committee, hear from party stakeholders on the state of our party, and for me to interact directly with you. The strong participation from members across the province is one of our party’s biggest assets, and ensures that we remain accountable to the hundreds of thousands of everyday Albertans who supported us in the last election.

Throughout 2013, our party has been engaged in a comprehensive policy and constitution development process which will culminate at the AGM in Red Deer. Our Wildrose Constituency Associations and individual party members have been working to develop policy and constitutional resolutions for consideration by the membership at workshops and plenary sessions at the AGM. One of our party’s most important tenets is our commitment to a grassroots policy development process, and I would like to thank all of our members who have worked on policy over the past year in preparation for October’s meeting. Not only will this revised policy declaration provide direction to me and our Wildrose Caucus as we continue to represent Albertans in the provincial Legislature, but it will also form the basis of the next Wildrose provincial campaign platform.

At this year’s AGM in Red Deer, we will be electing a new Wildrose Executive Committee. The deadline for submitting a completed application is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. As well, we will once again recognize some of Wildrose’s outstanding volunteers with our annual Strong and Free Volunteer Awards. We will also be presenting and reviewing the revised candidate nomination rules and procedures which will govern our candidate selection process, which will begin in 2014. Applications for Executive Committee positions and the Strong and Free Volunteer Awards are available by clicking the buttons to the right.

This AGM is a time to celebrate all that we have achieved as a party to date, and to refocus on what still needs to be accomplished over the next three years so that in the next election, Albertans will send a Wildrose government to the Legislature. As members, our party’s success belongs to you, and I hope that this AGM will be a time for us to gather together and enjoy some fellowship.
Thanks for your support – and see you at the AGM in Red Deer!
